Attention Collectors: This is your opportunity to begin collecting the following items throughout the year to assist these charities. We will again collect soup labels! Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, located in Watertown, WI, accepts Campbell labels which are used for educational purposes at all their facilities. Bethesda has been in operation for over 100 years and is home for the mentally challenged and disabled. When collecting the labels, keep only the UPC number off the label and/or lid as it saves postage. Cancelled postage stamps for Bethphage Mission, an ELCA home for the mentally and physically handicapped in Nebraska. Residents prepare stamps for a sale to a dealer, giving them a sense of accomplishment in being able to perform meaningful work and receive some income. Bring your cancelled stamps to the church office throughout the year. Please cut the stamps off the envelope before bringing them to the church. Betty Crocker labels for Spirit of Joy, our sister church in Ramona, which redeems them for funds for their future kitchen. Materials for LCI Piecemakers for quilts made by our women for Lutheran World Relief. The Piecemakers made 143 quilts last year. They need material, including bedsheets, bedspreads and blankets. You can bring any of these items to the church office during business hours. Call Elaine Jaeger or Lorene Welch for more information. Candles for the benefit of Lutheran Border Concerns. New or slightly used candles are collected only once a year in May. Please save your candles until the annual drive is announced and then bring them to church.
