A number of symbols in this window all point to the constant struggle of the people of Israel and their persistent faith in rebuilding their nation.   The cross in the Star of David is symbolic of the belief that the Messiah will come.  A plumb line hangs from the bottom of the star reminding them and us that God requires justice and righteousness.  The ladder and the saw symbolize the reconstruction of Jerusalem and the Temple.
