Preaching Central in the window is the empty cross revealing the Good News in Christ crucified and resurrected. The cross is flanked by wheat, symbolizing the Parable of the Sower bringing forth the harvest embodied in Jesus Christ, the bread of life. There are two bunches of grapes without branches, signifying that branches without fruit are pruned and burned, and establishing Jesus as the vine. In the lower portion of the window are two fishes and five loaves of bread, depicting the Feeding of the Five Thousand. Jesus ties preaching and feeding together, as in the word and the sacrament. |
