Word and Sacrament The two elongated windows on each side of the chancel are very abstract in design. The theme of these windows is God's Word and Sacrament. Since the pulpit and the altar are the primary sources for delivering the Word and the Eucharist, it is appropriate that these windows are placed in the chancel area. The windows themselves are open to interpretation; however, such symbols as three circles suggesting the Holy Trinity, a chalice and wafer, the Holy Family and the cross can be deciphered under very close scrutiny. There is a very strong sense of vertical movement symbolizing God reaching down to us and we lifting our hearts to Him. |
