To support its members and congregations, the ELCA structure
provides leadership through a churchwide office and 64 geographical (and one
non-geographical) synods located in nine regions. Each synod is headed by a bishop.
Lutheran Church of the Incarnation is one of 123 congregations in the Pacifica Synod.
The geographical area of the Pacifica Synod of the ELCA includes the state of
Hawaii and portions of southern California, including the counties of Orange, San
Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Imperial and portions of Los Angeles.
